ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

This week we are honoring the RPB 3rd/4th
grade girls Sparks.

The 3rd/4th Grade Sparks of RPB improved
their record to 5-0 with a hard earned victory
over the Comets.  Both teams entered the
contest with undefeated records and both the
Sparks and Comets can be very proud of their
efforts.

At the end of the first quarter the Sparks had
fallen behind by the score of 9-12 to the fast
and high scoring Comets.  The Sparks defense
gave its best effort but fell further behind by
halftime with a score of 11-16.  Determination
and persistence kept the girls in the contest.  In
the 3rd and 4th quarter the Sparks out scored
the talented Comets by a margin of 14 points to
1.  Kylie Hetzel led all scorers on the Sparks
with 11 points.  Remarkably, every girl on the
Sparks scored in the contest.  Each team
member also played tough defensive and
fought hard despite being behind for over half
of the game.  Key steals and solid rebounding
also contributed to the victory.

The Sparks are pleased with their progress
thus far but continue to strive to get better each
day.

The Sparks roster is as follows:

Claire Arvin  #2
Marissa Hensley  #3
Kylie Hetzel  #1
Sarah Li  #7
Maya Little-Sana  #8
Mackenzie Oribello  #5
Hanalyn Podgurski  #4
