| This week we are lucky enough to have another athlete of the week, and our second winner is Sasha Margulies of the PQ 12 and Under Lightning All-Star Team. Sasha Margulies is an 11-yr-old catcher on the PQ 12 and Under Lightning All-Star Team. She throws right-handed and bats from the left side. During the PQ Lightning All-Star Tournament from May 26-29, Sasha helped her team compile a 5-1 record against all-star teams from throughout Southern California. The PQ Lightning's only loss came in the championship game of the 12 and Under Division. Sasha contributed 7 hits during the tournament, including a triple and 4 doubles, and defensively she threw out 5 opposition runners on attempted steals. She also completed the final relay on a third base-catcher-first base double play to stop a bases-loaded rally by Cerritos during a pool play game. Sasha has been playing in the Penasquitos Girls Softball Association since she was 5 years old. Her dream is to someday play softball at UCLA. |
