ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

This week we are honoring Ryan Pineda of the
RPLL Major White Sox as athlete of the week.

In the Tuesday, March 18 game against a
strong Rays team, Ryan pitched the entire
game, throwing a no-hitter and striking out 16.
Only one Ray reached base the entire game.
Ryan also ripped a double in the game and has
hit two home runs over the center field fence in
the first five games of the season.

In his previous game pitching a week before,
Ryan defeated a strong Padres team 6-1,
striking out 15 of 17 outs he got. He had to exit
that game because he reached his pitch count
one batter before finishing the game.

In the two games combined, Ryan struck out 31
batters (out of 35 outs) and didn’t walk a single
batter in either game.

Ryan currently also plays for the Westview
Wolverines 7th grade basketball team and the
San Diego Sundevils travel baseball team.

Aside from basketball and baseball, he enjoys
playing tennis, wakeboarding and snow skiing.

Other hobbies include playing saxophone in the
Mesa Verde 7th grade Symphonic Band, piano
and chess.

**Edit to add: According to the
RPLL Dinger
Board, Ryan went deep again Tuesday, March
25!**
