ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

This week we are honoring the
entire RPLL South Major Rays as
the athlete of the week.

The Rays had an incredible
season this year, finishing a
perfect 22-0 during the regular
season.  I can speak from
personal experience that they
were one tough team on the field!
In all my years of coaching little
league, they were certainly the
best team that I ever saw.

Leandro Briones, this team was
Leandro Briones, this team was
ready to play every game!
ready to play every game!

The roster consisted of Emilio
Briones, Adrian Davila, Justin
DeGasperis, Chad DeVos, Dylan
Dixon, Eric Gamelson, Tai Guo,
Brandon Hernandez, Connor
Manos, Jonathan Molnar, Ryan
Smith, and Austin Steele.  These
boys should all be congratulated
on a truly great season!

After the regular season, they
continued their fine season by
making it to the semi-finals of the
tournament of champions.

This concluded a fine two-year
run where the Rays went 44-6,
winning 38 of their last 40.

According to their coach, Marty
Steele, "The Rays played with
skill, hard work, and heart.  With a
combination of 10 year-olds, 11
year-olds, and 12 year-olds,  they
were much more than a winning
team, they were a close-knit
baseball family."

Way to go Rays, it was a season
to remember!
