ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

This week we are honoring
Westview Freshman Soccer
player Michelle Baron as our
athlete of the week.

This Friday the 9th of February
the Westview Freshman Ladies
dominated the Rancho Bernardo
Freshman and won the match
4-0.  Goals were scored by
Sophie Lee, Kortney Ross,
Gabby Gagliani and Michelle
Baron.  It was Michelle's first goal
of the season with a beautiful trap
on her thigh and a powerful volley
into the back of the RB net.

The Freshman team so far has 4
wins, 1 draw and 1 loss in the
Palomar League Season.  The
girls have beaten Torrey Pines,
La Costa Canyon, RB twice, and
Mt. Carmel.  The tie was with
Torrey Pines and their only loss
came to La Costa Canyon.  

Their remaining matches are this
coming week vs Poway at
Westview at 3:30 on Wednesday
the 14th and then the final match
of the Season vs Mt. Carmel at Mt
Carmel on Friday the 16th.

For the regular Palomar League
season, the Freshman Lady
Wolverines led by coach Gary
Rossi have scored 18 Goals, only
allowed 3 goals and have 5
shutouts to their credit.  Over the
entire season, the team has
scored 43 goals, given up 9 goals
and have 13 shutouts over 19
games.

going and finish the season
