ATHLETE OF THE
WEEK

This week PQSports is honoring
RPLL's Minor Cubs Michael
Joosten.

Michael has been a team leader
on the Cubs, who are battling for
the championship in the very
competitive South Minors
Division.

Michael hit a grand slam a week
or so ago, and has been one of
the strongest hitters for the
Cubs all season.

Michael also contributes
defensively, as he has turned
into one of the Cubs most
reliable pitchers.

Above all, Michael works hard
and has a great willingness to
succeed.  This is noted by the
other Cub players, who follow
his lead and all put their best
foot forward.

As coach Kenn Laundroche
says, "Michael has been an
invaluable asset to our team.
He has a quiet disposition, but
leads the team with his batting
and his willingness to succeed.  I
am very fortunate to have him
on my team."

Michael's mom Lorene chimed in
with this about the Cubs season,
"The Cubs have really come
together as a team.  They all
work hard and support and
encourage each other.  Nobody
dominates -- everybody
contributes to the games they
play.  The coaches set the
example.  They are great role
models for the kids.  There is
never any criticism, just positive
reinforcement and constructive
advice.  Its everything that you
wish for as a parent."

Sounds like what Little League is
all about!  Good luck the rest of
the way Cubs.
