Kevin helped the Rangers secure the Pony Tournament with an outstanding championship game against the Athletics on Wednesday Night, leading them to an 11-4 victory. In what may be the last game of his organized baseball career, Kevin went 3-4 with a double and drove in 4 runs! Quite a way to end your career and the season! Although Kevin did have a big final game, credit needs to go out to all of the Rangers, as they entered this tournament as the number one seed after a fantastic regular season. Mike Keatley, the head coach of the Rangers, had this to say about Kevin and his team: "I would say it is difficult to pick one player when so many players perform so well but Kevin's game stood out. It was a tremendous effort from the entire team but tonight was definitely his night." Congrats to Kevin and all of the Rangers for a truly fine season! Kevin will receive a PQSports.com T-Shirt and a free sandwich of his choice at the Deli Stop for winning athlete of the week honors. If you know of an athlete in the PQ community deserving of athlete of the week honors, please email your nomination to chris@pqsports.com. Your athlete can be a senior pitcher or a 5 year-old soccer player that scored his/her first goal...we want to hear about them all! |
