ATHLETE OF THE
WEEK

This week PQSports.com is
honoring Kendall Brundrett of
the 10UPQ Lightning All-Stars.

Kendall pitched great at
Nationals in New Mexico, with the
team tying for a fantastic 7th
place finish.  Kendall is league
age 9, one of the youngest
pitchers in the 10 and under
division.  She showed her talent
with her outstanding pitches, but
also demonstrated incredible
poise by not allowing the
opposing teams to “rattle her
cage”.  Her calm and confident
demeanor, along with the
positive and sincere
encouragement of her
teammates, make her an all-
around team player.

At nationals, the 10UPQ
Lightning team out-scored their
opponents 73 to 10.  The team
took first in pool play before
heading onto bracket play.  All
together the team played 7
games, and finished with a 5-2
record.  The highlight of
Kendall's pitching was a tight
game against West Covina, the
eventual National Champions.
Kendall pitched a complete
game against a great team with
great hitters and kept them to a
3-0 win.

All of the girls played their
hearts out, and congratulations
are certainly in order for the
entire team on a great run
through nationals!
