ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

This week the PQSports Athlete
of the Week is Westview Senior
Outside Hitter Juliann Faucette.

Juliann is one of the top players
in the county, and one of the top
high school volleyballers in the
nation.  She was one of 2 high
school players selected to play
on our national team versus
Mexico.

Her coach, Luis Cuatok, has
plenty of praise for Juliann.  "For
her to just start playing volleyball
as a freshman and making it to
the national team as a senior is
unheard of.  On top of that, she
is just an all-around great person"

Overall, the team is doing very
well.  They placed third at the
Granite Hills and Scripps Ranch
tournaments.  This week is
especially tough, with a match at
Torrey Pines on Tuesday,
Wednesday at Poway, and then
Friday at home versus
cross-town rival Mount Carmel.

Other standouts on the team
include Senior Setter Ashley
Sacknoff, Senior Libero Katie
Girton, and Junior Outside Hitter
Erin Lupfer.

Juliann is happy with the season
overall, as her Wolverines have
done well.  She says that "We
are a young team and always
work hard."  As for playing on the
national team, that "was an
awesome experience.  I learned
a lot and now know where I need
to be as a player."

Congrats Wolverines, and good
luck during this tough week.

Feel free to give Juliann and the
rest of the Wolverines a
shout-out on the
message
boards.
