This week PQ Sports Athlete of
the Week is RPB's Dontae Walker.
Dontae Is the leader on defense
for the boys 7th grade Lakers. His
tenaciousness on defense is a
huge part of the Lakers success.  
His in your face style reminds
people of those old Laker teams
when Michael Cooper would lock
up the opposing team's star
player.

The Lakers, led by coach Ed
Irvine, have jumped off to a stingy
8-0 record in RP Basketball Boys
7th grade league. A big part
comes from the three sport star
Dontae Walker, a 7th grader from
Muirland Middle school in La
Jolla.  

Dontae's favorite basketball
player is Carmelo Anthony of the
Denver Nuggets. Dontae's
favorite sport is soccer, he plays
for the Poway Vaqueros Boys
under 12 Club team.

The Lakers have given up the
least amount of points this
season amongst the boys 7th
grade teams.  Other key players
on the team include Eddie Irvine,
who leads the team three
pointers, and Sean O'Keef, the
leading scorer & rebounder
