| ATHLETE OF THE WEEK (click here for past winners) This week PQ Sports is honoring as athlete of the week Cristian Armstrong of the RPLL Minor Athletics. Cristian Armstrong of the Minors A's had a great game last Monday night. In a game that didn't finish until 8:40 due extra innings, Cristian was tough at the plate with a two run home-run to get the A's going. He also added a single and a walk. His best play might have been with runners on 1st and 2nd in the top of the 7th inning and 2 outs, there was a fly ball hit to center that the center fielder caught on one hop and threw to Cristian at second base. Cristian then fired a perfect strike to the catcher for the out at home to end the inning and keep the score tied. The out allowed the A's to secure the victory with a bases loaded single (after Cristian had walked) in the bottom of the inning. The Minor A's are 4-3 overall on the season, with a 2-0 start to the regular season. Most of their games have been close. Three games have come down to the last at bat. The team is really coming together as they are hitting and making some outstanding plays in the field. It has been an entertaining season for them and their fans.
