This week PQSports is honoring
PQ Premiere's Boys Under 10
Red team.

The Boys U10 won the 2007
Southern California Beach
Soccer Tournament a week ago.

The boys finished the
tournament with 4 wins and 1
loss. They scored 33 goals and
only allowed 7 goals. The
championship game against the
Three Lions from Carlsbad was
close with the teams trading
goals to make it 2-2 at one
point. PQ then went on to score
3 unanswered points to avenge
their only loss earlier in the day.

Haydn Mitchell coached the
boys to the championship; in
addition he also coached the
GU12 team that placed 2nd in
the tournament!  This is their
first season with Haydn at the
helm of this club.

They have 6 returning players
and 6 new players for this year.  
The boys are very excited to be
playing, as they feel the new
player additions will really
improve the team.  The boys
finished strong last year by
winning the Silver Bracket of the
President's Cup and placing in
the top 36 teams at State Cup.  
Their loss at State Cup was to
Force SC with the score being
3-2.  Force SC ending making it
all the way to the semi-finals.  

This beach soccer tournament
was the first time that any of the
boys have played this kind of
game.  Beach soccer forces the
kids to work on passing and
heading, as dribbling the ball is
very hard in the sand.
