| ATHLETE OF THE WEEK (click here for past winners) This week PQ Sports Athlete of the Week is Allen Boyer of the Mount Carmel Varsity Baseball Team. Allen has had a great start to the season in leading the Sundevils to an impressive 7-2 start. For starters, he has hit in all nine games, collecting 2 hits in each of the last 8 contests! On the season he is hitting a cool .600! In Tuesday's 4-3 win agains San Marcos, Allen was 2-3 with a double, an RBI, and a stolen base. For the season, he has 16 runs scored in just 9 games, along with 4 dingers. His coach, John Holmes, has nothing but praise for Allen, stating that "Allen is having a great season so far, and is bound to keep it up." Allen grew up in PQ, and played in our own Rancho Penasquitos Little League. He went to Black Mountain Middle School, and now is starring for our own MC Sundevils.
