To my fellow Rancho Penasquitosians…. A few words about me, things I am doing, and about this website. WWW.PQSports.com is in its 2nd year, and I am trying to provide the members of the community a place to go and discuss the youth sports in our area. I have a vision that it will someday be used as an information exchange for our community not just in the sports realm, but just in general. I strongly encourage you to sign up as a member in the forums section. Please keep in mind that I am always looking for athletes of the week, or teams of the week, or any other interesting features for the site. If you know of someone or something that should be recognized, please email me so I can get it up there for the community to share in. Also, please let whatever team or league you are currently participating in know about the site, so it can continue to grow and serve the community. My real job is that of a mortgage broker, and as you are probably aware of, there is some real unrest in the mortgage industry right now. Too many bad loans were made, and the you-know-what is starting to hit the fan right now. I think it may get worse before it gets better, so hang on tight. If you have a mortgage need, please give me a call and I will give it to you straight. I am fine with you using me as a sounding board or for price comparison. Don’t feel obligated to do your loan through me if you call me. I want to make sure you get in the right loan for the right price, and if someone is offering the right product at a better price, I will recommend for you to take it. If you do agree to do a mortgage with me, let me know AFTER the loan closes that you want the “PQ Discount”, and I will write you a check for .1% of the loan balance ($300 on a $300,000 loan), up to $500. By doing it after the loan closes, you can be assured that I did not price it into the loan. Previously I was a licensed stock broker with Morgan Stanley. I am always happy to help with financial management questions if you would like a 2nd opinion. Whether it is from 401K selections or setting up a college fund, I am here for you to bounce ideas off of. I am not licensed anymore, so if you are looking for more than someone to just give you some feedback, you should see a professional. On the other hand, I will give you the best advice I can, and you can be assured that I will keep your situation confidential, as my reputation and livelihood depend upon it. Along these same lines, I thought it might be fun and interesting to have a stock-picking discussion. I will start a thread in the general forum at www.pqsports.com for this purpose, but it can be good to share ideas and get insight from others on this topic. I follow it pretty closely, and am always open to hearing your thoughts. If you have a hot stock that you are interested, let me know, I would appreciate it! Currently I like EXPO, it is a consulting firm of engineers, and with the recent tragic bridge collapse, I could see their services in huge demand in the near future as cities try to shore up their infrastructures. Check it out! I want to start a referral network, so if you know of someone that does good work, or are looking for someone, please contact me to let me know. I will keep track of comments I receive on anyone that I refer, so if you are looking for a contractor, a CPA, a caterer, a realtor, or whatever, shoot me an email and I will get back to you on that. I am looking for those folks that do a good job and support the PQ community, as I like to keep things local. If you perform a service and would like to be on my referral list, let me know that too! On the lighter side, in this day and age there are some pretty funny emails that go around. If you receive one that touches your funny bone, feel free to send it along to me, I could always use a good laugh. If you would like to get some from me, let me know. I am not one to forward on these to those that don’t want it, but if you would like to receive them let me know and I will put you on the distribution list. Lastly, one of my favorite things is to be out on the golf course. I was thinking of putting together a fun tournament for the community; let me know if you would be interested. It would be handicapped and fun for all skill levels, from real sticks to hackers. I also enjoy playing with new folks, so if you ever need a 4th, let me know! For those of you who made it through my rather lengthy letter, I appreciate it. Hopefully we can come together to keep Rancho Penasquitos a great place to live! See you out in the community!
